The month of May marked the fourth consecutive month-to-month increase in home sales for the Illinois housing Market, according the Illinois Association of Realtors The Association reports that the total home sales (including singly family and condominiums) were up 19.3 percent in May over the sales reported for April statewide, with the Chicagoland area reporting an increase of 18.7 percent.
Median home prices have also risen 4.2 percent from April 2009 to May 2009, in the Chicagoland area. This despite in increase in interest rates, although still at historic lows.
The Realtor Association, also reports an increase in activity, with more listings and showings. Hopefully this trend will continue.
